global warming? or just november

The camellias are blooming at the back of the house. These normally bloom in mid- to late-January, but I guess the cold snap makes them think it is time to start putting on a show. An early winter snack for the bees that haven’t started hibernating yet.

Beautiful! Do camellias have a fragrance?

Nope, no scent that is noticeable, and the blooms are very short lived…lasting only a couple of days. They are a southern tradition in the garden. I love them, I wish they would last a little longer. I have one white and one red budding shrub.
