built on addiction

The founding fathers made a lot of money on tobacco, the evidence of which can still be seen on campus. Smith Warehouse is where Liggett & Myers used to print cigarette paper until the university took back the building to create office space. It’s now the home of several campus departments, including some of the library staff. I happen to find this building utterly beautiful inside and out.
