    Wow, that is one of the most perfectly-peeled oranges I’ve ever seen! Maybe it’ll be a treat for some birds….

      The only explanation I have is that either a) a squirrel preferred the peel to the fruit, or b) this was near the campus daycare and maybe a tiny tot dropped it after their mom peeled it for them.

      I took this shot as a “low down Hail Mary” as the bus was coming up the road. I set the auto-focus, reached down with the camera and fired off a couple of shots hoping the fruit was in the frame.

    Ah! I love the idea of the “low down Hail Mary” — I’ve taken many of those myself, rarely with such success. The campus daycare hypothesis is a good one; it’s just so neatly peeled.

    Um, I hate to say it, but at first glance, I thought it was a pumpkin. Hmmm…oughta get those eyes checked soon…

    Beautiful. Nice grain — I can almost feel the peeled orange or dirt in my hand.
