The willow oaks on campus are reaching their natural end of life, they live on average only 80 years. The university is taking the most diseased and termite-ridden ones down before they fall on their own. When they are cut, you can see how hollow they are, and that is a little scary considering how tall they are. It’s a little sad to see such beautiful trees cut down, but I don’t want to be under one if it falls over, either.
