Robin Watch 2012

Mrs. Robin has returned to the same nest as she was in last year in the dogwood tree out front. Hopefully we will see the baby robins fledge this year.

You and Sarah both would love a show on the BBC that we’ve caught a couple of times, called “Springwatch.” it’s literally an hour of live and prerecorded footage from cameras trained on nests, roosts, and otter dams from across the UK. Last night, there was lots of discussion about when various groups of baby birds might fledge. They also have webcams at http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/18035848…but it’s more fun with the very animated commentary from the hosts!

I would love that! The birds were gone today. They seemed a little too young to fledge, and I don’t see any juveniles around the yard. I fear they may have been dinner for something else.
