The cardinal, he knew, would be the best bird to help him reach his dream. Louie had heard all about how the cardinal had made it to the Olympics years ago, going up against some of the toughest competitors that had been seen in years. Louie knew the cardinal’s knowledge added to his own skill and desire would make him unbeatable! But would the cardinal want to help him?

Louie thought about the best way to approach the cardinal for help. Should he offer some of the lovely seed he’d been saving for winter? Should he offer to help him find materials for his nest? Or should he be bold and show him the discusses he was hoping to practice with in hopes that the pretty colors would tempt him?

Louie decided to be bold. No risk was too great for the reward of achieving his dream. Hoping the cardinal would understand, Louie gathered his courage and headed to Mr. C’s house, discusses in wing.
