With all due apologies to Yukio Mishima for stealing his title. My poor garden has given up in this heat. I guess the silver lining is that I won’t have to divide the iris bed again this year since it is too hot and dry to torture the plants that way. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

Our day lilies, which usually don’t bloom until August, have already bloomed and died in the outrageous heat. I’m going to use your excuse for not dividing them this year — thanks!
Glad to be of service.
