Death In Mid Summer
Don’t Be Fooled
I left work early due to the threatening storm. By the time I got my scooter unlocked and started home, the raindrops were so big they actually hurt as I drove through them, and the lightning seemed way too close. As I crossed over Main Street (half way home), it just stopped. At home all we got was a little sprinkle, nothing more. Apparently it all, once again, went south of us.
The Far Side
I’ve posted pics of the Old Guilford Mill before, but not from this angle.
Leave Me Alone
Hardware Food
I travelled up to Warrenton today and had lunch at the Hardware Cafe. The owners kept a lot of the old hardware fixtures including the nail bins and ladders on rails. All the items on the menu had hardware themes like “The Ladder” and “Nuts and Bolts.” The sandwiches were decent, and they make their own desserts. The homemade buttermilk pie was really good. I wanted a slice of chocolate chess pie, but I thought that would be gluttonous.
Worst Food Blogger Ever
That would be me, because I forget to take a picture of my beautiful food until I’ve eaten half of it. This is half the vegetarian/vegan plate at Queen of Sheba. De-lish!! The Gomen Watt (collard greens) and Yemisir Kay Watt (red lentils) were my favorite.
